If I had to live in another time period it would probably be in the 1890s. Life would’ve been a lot harder, but I think it would’ve been a lot simpler too. There were a lot of things that we have now that we didn’t have all the comforts, TV, but you had reading. For the most part you didn’t have electricity, so you needed to use candles and lamps. I think probably family was a lot closer back in that period of time because you didn’t have the distractions that you have these days. Um, they probably did more things together and enjoyed more family time. As far as jobs go, there were still a lot of jobs that are done today except maybe not on such a high technical level. Or if you didn’t live in the city, per se, then, if you lived on the farm, then that was your livelihood. That’s what you did for a living. So the 1890s I believe is probably the time period that I would most like to live in.
Living in another time period. If I had the opportunity to go back in time and live in another time period, it will be during the Doo-wop era, which I believe is in the 1950s with the poodle skirts, the funky hairdos, I guess. Usually I think they had pony tails, but the guy’s had like the little funky hairdo, with the little curl going up on top, and the leather jackets, and uh, I do listen to a lot of that type of, I guess, music from the 1950s, and I just like the little shoes with the stocks that are rolled down, and the cars, they’re very, I guess, um, how can I say, unique…compared to the cars now, ‘cause, honestly I believe that if that we’re sort of trying to move up and we’re so modernized right now I believe that cars back then were so much nicer than the ones now, so, I think the 1950s would do.
One thing I’d like to talk about is living in another time period. I think it would be so cool if you could just hop in a time machine and go back in time to maybe like 90s, the 80s, 70s, because like those were like the great days. I’ve never, I was born in the 90s so I would really know how the 80s or 60s or 70s were like, but I’m sure, like, it was, life was a little bit easier, more simple back then ‘cause, you know nowadays, it’s kind of hard in this economy, we have a recession; it’s hard to find jobs. It’s kind of, everything’s kind of competitive, and school is expensive. I mean, wouldn’t it be great to go back to the 60s and just live, and just travel, I mean, people did that you know. They didn’t need ma college education back then. Today a college education is considered, a college degree would be looked at like a high school diploma, you know, you can’t get anywhere with a bachelors you need a Masters nowadays. Nowadays, so, I mean, go back in time would be really cool.
If I were to choose another time period to live in, I would definitely have to choose medieval times England. There’s something amazing and beautiful about that specific time period. The way the women dressed, the knights in their suits of armor on their horses jousting, and I think it’s just such an amazing time period filled with nothing but chivalry, and royalty, and I don’t know, all kinds of good stuff.
